Okay, here's the thing. I earn money from my blogs so it makes sense for this post to be here. Whenever somebody asks to exchange links with me, I always oblige. My former students will tell you that I have a hard time saying "no" anyway. People who know me will also tell you that it's very rare for me to take the initiative when it comes to such things as link exchanges (like in social network sites, I usually get add-me requests and not the other way around). I'm not exactly unfriendly, it's just that my efforts are geared towards other things. If you ask for a link exchange or to be added in my contacts list, I'll probably agree to it. Anyway, I think it's a little unfair for people who approached me for a link exchange to just drop me off their list willy-nilly, especially if they're somebody I personally know. Of course, they don't owe me an explanation and neither do they need my permission to take my link off their blog, but it still feels a little unfair considering that their links remained on my blog (I already took them off, but not before letting a few weeks after discovery pass to make sure that the deletion is permanent and not some techie glitch I'll never understand) long after they'd removed mine. Anyway, it just feels like being one-upped even if it probably wasn't deliberate.
